The Sandusky Bay Conference was formed in 1948 and has been a mainstay of competitive and quality athletic play in the state of Ohio since that time. In 2016, the SBC expanded to 15 teams divided into Bay and River divisions. The Bay division is home to some of the larger schools while the smaller schools are in the River division, formerly known as the Sandusky River League. Schools are located within Erie, Hancock, Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca counties. The schools range in size from Division 1 to Division 7. The reasonably short travel distances and variety of sizes promotes tight competition throughout all sanctioned sports and a long history of membership with several rivalries.
