Sandusky Central Catholic School celebrated connections Tuesday with a new project involving its entire student body.

Together, students created "salvation bracelets."

The bracelet’s colorful beads represented various aspects of Catholic faith, they explained. Its sturdy string, meanwhile, symbolized a person’s lifelong connection with God.

Fittingly, the project united the school's youngest and oldest students, who teamed up or worked in groups to complete the craft.

“It’s neat, knowing the whole school is involved with this — and the little kids love it,” freshman Ashley Huntley said, guiding first-graders Garrett Torrey, Ella Brownell and McKenna Valentine from their classroom table.
