Endowments

Endowed Chair Fund - $2,416,057
The Endowed Chair Fund provides funding primarily for SMCC faculty bonuses, while a portion funds professional development and departmental improvements.

Endowment Fund - $1,774,790
The Endowment Fund is a general unrestricted fund used to provide money for the operation of Sandusky Central Catholic School for purposes deemed appropriate by the administration. 

Gallagher Library/Technology Fund - $66,798
Established by Dr. James and Michele Gallagher to offset library expenses incurred at SCCS.  In recent years, the donors agreed to also use these funds for online academic advancement.

Investing in Educators Endowment Fund - $25,000
New 2017 Established to ensure that SCCS has the most qualified, highly trained, and fairly compensated teaches for our students.  This fund provides cutting-edge professional development, compensates teacher for longevity and advanced degrees, and rewarding teachers who excel beyond expectations.

TUITION ASSISTANCE FUNDS

Gallagher Tuition Assistance Fund - $961,084
Established by Dr. James and Michele Gallagher and Dr. Susan Gallagher to financially support families who would like their children to attend SCCS.  This fund now includes general SCCS tuition assistance gifts.

Monsignor Armitage Fund - $217, 810
Established through consolidated memorials and donations to provide SCCS tuition assistance for Holy Angels parishioner families.

Dorothy Yontz Memorial Fund - $130,400
Established by her son Kenneth Yontz and daughter Barb Pack in honor and memory of Dorothy Yontz who attended Holy Angels School.  This Fund provides SCCS tuition assistance for Holy Angels parishioner families.

Groff Family Fund - $141,072
A donor advised fund, where monies are distributed annually for SCCS tuition assistance. 

Ken Yontz Tuition Assistance Fund - $120,093
Established by St. Mary High School alum Ken Yontz to provide general SCCS tuition assistance.

Sister Mary Jon Wagner Tuition Assistance Fund - $76,594
Established in honor of SCCS’s first Superintendent upon her retirement.  It is used to provide general SCCS tuition assistance.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Arthur and Mildred Link Endowment Fund - $671,838
Provides tuition assistance for SMCC students represented by eight named scholarships.  Mr. Link, is a 1939 SMCC graduate and a prominent player of the 1936 SMCC State Basketball Champs.

High School Scholarship Fund - $416,810
This fund represents multiple scholarship and tuition assistance funds designated towards the continued Catholic education of selected students, based on individual donor specifications.

Schumacher Post Graduate Fund - $155,87
A renewable scholarship awarded to an above average graduating senior attending college with an interest in engineering, accounting or technology.

Barbara A. McCafferty M.D. Math & Science Award – $149,261
Awarded to female students who have an interest in math or science, while maintaining a strong academic record.

Walter Platte Scholarship Fund - $137,559
Awarded to an incoming SMCC freshman and to a graduating senior attending a Catholic college or university that teaches theology with the Mandatum of the Catholic Church.

Randolph J. Dorn and Estelle M. Dorn Post Graduate Fund - $73,005
Given to graduating seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, while being involved in extracurricular activities. 

Ruth & Norbert Wensink Scholarship Fund - $70,620
Awarded to an incoming SMCC freshman who has a strong academic record and is involved in his or her parish and community. 

The John Sortino Scholarship Fund - $51,287
Established in memory of John Sortino, who died during the time he attended Sts. Peter and Paul School.  It is awarded to a student who is active in his or her parish and school, and will attend SMCC for 9th grade. 

Beverly Vaith Fund - $46,445
Awarded to a SMCC student that demonstrates Catholic principles in their everyday life.  The establishment of this Trust was very important to Mrs. Vaith in order to fulfill and continue her most heartfelt contributions to her favorite charities.

Mary Lay Post Graduate Fund - $36,896
A renewable scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who demonstrates initiative and self-reliance, while maintaining an above average GPA.

Marjorie A. Cleveland Fund - $27,317
The Marjorie A. Cleveland Endowed Scholarship was established in 2013.  Mrs. Cleveland was a 1939 graduate of SMCC.  This scholarship will be awarded to a high school student that demonstrates academic excellence.

The McKenna/ Platte Scholarship Fund - $13,949
Established by Walter Platte in honor of Fran McKenna & Dennis Platte.  This scholarship represents their commitment to the Sts. Peter and Paul Athletics Program and their strong Catholic faith.  It is awarded to an incoming SMCC freshman, who is a Sts. Peter and Paul parishioner, and is involved in school athletics.  

Dennis Platte Scholarship Fund - $13,742
Established by Dennis’s wife, Emily, and is in honor of his commitment to the Sts. Peter and Paul Athletics Program and his deep Catholic faith.  It is awarded to an incoming SMCC freshman, who is a Sts. Peter and Paul parishioner, and is involved in school athletics. 

Post Graduate Fund - $3,285
The Post Graduate Fund represents the Jacob Cullen scholarship, awarded to a graduating senior that exemplifies the meaning of Catholic identity.  This scholarship was established by Jacob’s grandfather, Mr. A. Vincent Agnew, in honor of Jacob receiving the 2005 Bishop’s Cross award at his SMCC graduation.
