Ceccoli, a 1988 St. Mary Central Catholic graduate, served as the Panthers’ head coach the past five seasons.

“The last several years have been special for me,” Ceccoli said. “Having the chance to return to my alma mater and coach the basketball team has been a dream come true. I have enjoyed reconnecting with the people and families of Panther Nation and building strong relationships with my players. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.”

At SMCC, Ceccoli put together a 59-58 overall record with some of the best defensive teams in school history. In his first year, he guided the Panthers to a share of the 2019 Sandusky Bay Conference River Division championship.

Ceccoli also was the head coach at Edison High School in Milan, Ohio, from 2005-11. He led Edison to SBC titles in 2009 and 2011.

“I plan to spend more time with my wife and family,” Ceccoli said. “I feel the program is in a good place right now. Our numbers are solid, we have streamlined our youth programs, and we have some talented players returning. The administration has always been supportive of its coaches. The parents have as well. Whoever takes over the program is stepping into a good situation.”
