2009 SMCC Graduate Jude McCormick is turning some heads in New York and may be showcasing his incredible talents on Broadway in the very near future.  He recently did a tour of “The Visit” at the historic Williamstown Theatre Festival and is projected for a Broadway run later this year.  Jude has been in New York for nearly two years and has been extremely active in the music business, becoming associated with multiple recording studios as well as talent writing for other artists. “It is probably the most fulfilling thing I have done in these last two years” he said. Jude has his own YouTube channel (Search “Jude_tribemusic”, which is also his Twitter account) that he uses to post new music and it’s definitely worth a look.

On January 16th, Jude performed at the largest nightclub in New York City, the historic Webster Hall. He acquired a six piece band and four backup singers for the event.

“I will be on the marquee as "Jude and the Tribe".

Hopefully it will be recorded so you all can enjoy it. It will be uploaded to my YouTube page” Jude said with a smile.

When asked about advice he would have for current SCCS students, Jude replied, “Do something out of the norm and be confident. To just be part of the group is so boring and won't get you anywhere to be proud of. Go out there, fail, succeed, just go out there and try. And travel! Leave home, I promise it will be there when you get back.”

While at SMCC, Jude was an active student as a member of the basketball, football and baseball teams.  He was known for his incredible voice and showmanship on stage.  He worked hard in theatre in Sandusky and the surrounding area, including time as a member of the Firelands Chorus. Speaking about what he liked best about SMCC, Jude said, “My classmates. I will always have that group of guys I can depend on and that's because of the camaraderie and size of our institution.”

Jude graduated with a Bachelors of Music degree from Baldwin Wallace in 2013.  Both of Jude’s parents, Mike McCormick ’75 and Charlene McCormick ’78, as well as his brothers, Jason ’04 and Joey ’07 are Panthers.
