Sandusky Central Catholic School recently unveiled a beautiful, handmade Holy Family ceramic mural at their main entrance. The mural was blessed by Father Michael Rommele at a special gathering as part of Grandparents and Special Persons Day on Thursday, November 13. The mural is a generous gift from the Kasper Family, a unique, custom made work of art created by Sr. Jane Mary from Lourdes College specifically for SCCS.

Sr. Jane Mary’s work has earned awards from the Toledo Museum of Art, Butler Institute of American Art, The National Art Club and the Art Student's League of New York. She has been honored with Awards of Excellence for her paintings in international competitions sponsored by the American Society of Portrait Artists' Foundation, Portrait Society of America and the Art Renewal Center.

"This beautiful work of art is a testament to our whole community. It says that we exist to welcome everyone to encounter Christ. Our school is here for that purpose." said Fr. Michael Roemmele, Vicar for Sandusky Central Catholic School.

This project would not have been possible without the hard work and support of many people.  Mr. David Harrison and JBT FoodTech fabricated the mural's metal case, Mr. Mike Opfer and S&H Flooring laid out the tiles and did the grout work and Mr. Ken Berlin and the SCCS Buildings and Facilities Committee coordinated the entire project to bring it to life.
